Hands Free Law

On July 1st, 2008, you can't use you're cell phones when your driving.
Forty-one percent of drivers in California and Washington use their cell phones while driving, and 47 percent say they already use a hands-free device.
One in four respondents age 34 or younger admitted to text messaging while driving.
Only half of the California respondents could correctly identify July 1, 2008 as the date the hands-free law goes into effect; awareness levels in Washington State were even lower.
Nearly three out of 10 respondents believed the law is already in effect in Washington.
Support for the hands-free legislation is high with close to three out of five regarding phone use while driving to be very dangerousbut only two out of five say they will use their phone less.
